Ink-Fusion

Ink-Fusion

Artist Marc Draven presented Ink-Fusion, a pavilion on our show floor where the worlds of tattoos and comics will collide. Marc was joined with some of the best tattoo artists in the country, and they were spilling ink at the show. Ink-Fusion’s professional and licensed artists created new tattoos or re-inked existing work.

INK-FUSION has been in the making for over a decade. Marc Draven originally had the idea of bringing professional tattooing into different realms of media. These realms encompassed the likes of comic conventions, television programming, commercial marketing, and movie projects and conventions. After working a bit in each of these industries over the past 15 years, he came to realize that there is one common bond across all fields. Draven created Ink-Fusion to show the world that not only do we have something to offer the clientele in our direct fields, but we also possess the ability to bridge into other mediums as well.

Marc Draven

Marc DravenMarc Draven began teaching himself the art of tattooing in 1992 outside of Philadelphia, PA and worked his way down the East Coast – eventually finding his home base in Tampa, FL. Along the way, Marc has tattooed many celebrities, been published in numerous magazines, and continues to work with some of the best pin-up and fantasy artists in the world. He is now making himself known for crossing the tattoo industry with the multimedia industry. His "INK-FUSION" project shows the world that tattoos, movies, television, comics, and artists of all backgrounds share a common thread of self-expression. He describes it as follows, "INK-FUSION is when the worlds of tattooing and comics collide."

Kelly Rogers

Kelly RogersKelly Rogers is a tattooist and owner a shop in Cape Coral, Florida called Gearhead Tattoos. He's been tattooing for about seven years and has been dabbling in various other low brow art for as long as he's been able to pick up a crayon and draw on his mother's walls. He believes that diversity is the most important aspect of tattooing, but always also being 110% sure that you can do the pull the piece off, making every tattoo the best tattoo you've ever done. He also passes time by painting whatever he can get my hands on. Kelly has been really feeding off the Kustom culture for quite a while and always believes that will be a part of his style. Working with One Shot and a couple of striping and lettering brushes, as well as a little bit of airbrushing here and there has really been a great "hobby" for him to keep his skills flowing. So be sure to stop in and get a tattoo from Kelly during C2E2. If you'd like to set an appointment, or check out his portfolio, go to www.gearheadtattoos.com

Andrea Swabb

Andrea SwabbAndrea Swabb was raised in Florida in a small Gulf Coast beach town called Siesta Key. She was totally immersed in punk culture in the late 80's and looking for total rebellion. Seeking individuality she was drawn to tattooing as a form of self expression, primarily focusing on surreal color work. Using imagery from her own nature photography as well as the macro world for reference, her tattoos take on an animated life of their own . Andrea has been working in the tattoo industry since 1993, including many tattoo conventions and multimedia events. You can view samples of her work at www.inkubinetattoo.com.
